Why isn't it called Wrong Turn 7?

The last Wrong Turn was Wrong Turn 6: (Last Resort) from 2014. Why can't they just give this the only logical name it deserves: Wrong Turn 7?

Don't say it's a reboot, that is no excuse to drop the number.

That's what it is though - a remake/reboot. It's not a sequel.

I thought they were restarting the franchise. I should have known better. Nowadays a movie with the same name is not a remake but a sequel. Weird trend.
