Is this the replacement for The InHumans?

I for one was really excited when the Marvel film slate included the InHumans and was quite concerned when InHumans were introduced into the Marvel Television roster via Agents of SHIELD. With so many InHumans I thought AoS could play in the InHumans sandbox for quite awhile by just staying away from the Royal Family.

AoS had to go and tie HYDRA's origins into the Inhuman and Kree story-line and it was a big pfftt!

The InHumans series I thought might have been a winner and I thought the IMAX showings was a novel approach and it resulted in another big PFFFFFTTT!!

So now Kevin Feige taps into the Eternals and I'm just not as familiar with them nor care nearly as much about them as I did the InHumans. Truth be told I always exclusively wanted the InHumans' introduction to be tied to the Fantastic Four.

But doesn't everyone think that the Eternals are just an easy way to replace whatever the narrative gameplan was for the MCU and the InHumans?

I share your experience to a degree. As a long time Fantastic Four fan, I was familiar with the Inhumans and was very disappointed with what AoS and especially the TV show did. (btw, is AoS currently good? I quite after the space 1/2 season)
I think you might be right about Eternals being a replacement/stunt double. They sorta borrowed already from Eternals lore IIRC. Kree instead of Celestials, etc. I have quite a few old and newer Eternals comics but I remember little of the meat of those stories. They were never very good as I recall. I was enamored with their image and connection to Celestials most of all (anything Kirby was great) so they always remained interesting in theory for me if not in reality.
I think The New Gods went where Kirby wanted the Eternals to be. Not much of a fan of them either actually. Again, though, Kirby's visual narratives can turn lead into gold.

AoS is going into its last season and from all indications, the TV stuff is now being considered a separate universe. I imagine we'll get proper Inhumans somewhere down the line.

Possibly.

Agree with you ...sad how the Inhumans were completely mishandled on tv, and apparently have been shelved by MCU/Feige moving forward.

Only hope is that they get re-introduced once FF is brought into the mix.

I was initially excited about The Inhumans when it was supposed to be a movie as well. When that changed to a TV show though I already lost some hope and bases on how the show turned out I'm very disappointed. Since the show was done by Marvel Television though and not Marvel Studios, I hope that at some point they'll just sweep it under the rug and give us a proper movie.
