Appropriate for younger audience?
My first impression from the trailers is Clue or The Westing Game. Is it anything like these? Thanks for your input.

shareIts could have been a PG movie if they cut out all the F bombs and other cursing. I guess its edgier to have it be a PG-13 movie. Its a whodunit murder mystery, its a decent movie, a few laughs here and there.
shareFine for any age, except the very young probably won't get it. Nothing gross or obscene, though.
shareI'd argue the scene at the end where Marta throws up on Ransom after she lied about Fran being alive would make it PG-13 regardless. As would the scene of Harlem killing himself and the scene of his dead body.

It's a murder mystery, so there's some gruesomeness to the crime itself. There's also quite a bit of "mature" language, so depending on exactly how old you mean and what your parenting style is, it would be fine. That does hinge on what you mean by "younger". Like, six? No, I don't think they'd like it and it probably wouldn't be okay.
shareI was hoping for something dramatically moving like Gosford Park, but basically it was mostly like any episode of Death in Paradise, Endeavour or any of those other complicated British mysteries. The stuff that goes beyond the murder mystery part really needed to be much stronger in some way, either more dramatic or more humorous.
sharePossibly not a great choice for younger audiences below age 13, as suggested by the MPAA rating of PG--13.
shareExactly. The rating is often a good place to start for parents who are wondering if a movie will be okay for their kids. And since every kid is different, responsible parents would watch the movie themselves just to make sure, before showing it to their kids.
