Amazing high quality 90s footage

Was someone shooting on film? It looks high def. I know with film you are basically shooting high def (hence we can make hd versions of old movies), but video tape footage, shot for tv, looks very grainy and dated.

If the footage looks as good or better than modern video, then it was shot on film. This during the final season IMAX cameras were rolling for the Jordan to the Max film so there is plenty of film footage, and probably hours worth that didn't make the cut.
