Yes it was. I enjoyed the characters but I didn't really want a family reunion or a hospital visit. It just ended.

I think the director added that upward shot with the glorious light bathing and swelling music to make us feel as if she represents hope & tenacity. Apparently she is the chosen one in Florida.
shareI liked the ending implying (with the torch) that she won the ‘relay’ that she had lost in the beginning of the movie. Then it goes into See You Later Alligator and you know it was a happy ending.
