The Beatles: Thee most overrated band in history.

The vast majority of the songs by the Beatles are overrated, hyped up junk... "We all live in a yellow submarine"..... "I am the walrus"... "Why don't we do it on the road"... "I want to hold your hand"... "Helter Skelter... Utter rubbish.

It's a matter of taste. I don't like the Beatles but a lot of people I know do or did for some time. For me, it just reminds me of gradeschoool choir because our music teacher was a big Beatles fan. We had to sing it all the time so hearing their music does nothing for me. That being said, a friend of mine really likes them and made a this point: while other bands stayed in one playing style, the beetles progressed as music changed. Apparently that wasn't common.

I like some of the Beatles stuff but definitely released a lot of overrated mediocrity. "Helter Skelter" is definitely an overrated song that I always thought was pure crap. Just noisy garbage that felt like McCartney trying to prove he could be "edgy".

Oh please. The Beatles are not a band I really listen to when I want to hear great rock. Too MOR for rock. But they were a great band. Their range of styles is impressive. Compare them to their 60's rival the Rolling Stones, a band stuck in one sound, and you see The Beatles' greatness.
