I understand why she gave him an IV of dog blood. But why did she slit his wrist too? If she wanted him to suffer, why didn't she just wait and see what happened?

shareI think she just wanted his blood to be replaced with dog blood, before he bled out and died. Like, he would die with dog blood in him.
