Lack of diversity

Rather than wondering why Numenor is improbably diverse or why is there a black-skinned Elf, let's ask why Southlanders are all "white"?

I mean, unlike the Gondorian "colonizers" they are native to the South. And we do know exactly which humans fought for Morgoth. These were Easterlings - inspired by our Earth's nomadic people of the East.
So they should either look like Mongols or similar to Iranians.

reply

They're not all white, I saw two black women in the village in episode 1. And the main actress from the area is actually Iranian.

reply

They should all look like her.
Any "whites" would be descendants of Edain slaves they brought back from Beleriand.

reply

They only need the amount of diversity castings that is enough, according to the formula, for them to be able to virtue signal about it.

reply

Because the show-runners don't care about a logically written plot or casting of it's characters.

White men will mostly be portrayed as dumb, evil or racist ...women will be strong and smart ...minority characters will be likeable and heroic.

That is the woke formula/agenda for movies and tv shows in the 2020's.

reply

Very much, you can almost predict to a T how the characters will behave just looking at the cast and going based on their race these days.

reply

How about instead of focusing so much on diversity we instead just focus on making good movies/TV shows? Geez what a radical idea.
