This TV show may be using the locations and characters of Tolkien's mythos, but they're being fundamentally changed in some cases and put into situations that TOLKIEN NEVER WROTE FOR THEM, so as a Tolkien fan, I'm not interested in what is essentially some BAD FANFICTION of Tolkien's lore! shareJust off the top of my head the scene in episode one where Galahadriel and her company of male elves are attacked by a mountain troll or whatever that thing was.
The troll was absolutely creaming the male elves one after the other and then Galahadriel steps up and casually slices and dices the thing with reverse backhand look away sweeps of her sword while doing somersaults etc and the troll doesn't lay a finger on her. Men are useless, women rule ! How's that for Woke ?
I got it, there is one scene where she kills a troll in badass fashion. Isn't Galadriel a particularly powerful elf? Is there anything else?

Woke? In Tolkien's world, dwarves were never black, neither were elves. And Galadriel was certainly never a fucking warrior!

shareTolkien never WROTE her as a warrior. I'm thinking that the writers of RoP guessed that Galadriel MAY be a warrior is because she overreacted to the One Ring in FOTR and then got "angry" at Sauron in the Hobbit movie.
Just because Galadriel kept her cool most of the time but could lose it, very rarely, does not mean she was a warrior.
Basically, what I'm saying to you and the showrunners is: DON'T PUT WORDS INTO A DEAD MAN'S (Tolkien's) MOUTH!

Who gives a shit about the ratings on IMDb, they are nonsense. Since 1/3 is are 1/10s, which is absurd, the series is at worst average. There are a lot of people who make hating on woke content a way of life, so they are incapable of actually judging things on their own merit when they have already made up their mind it is going to be woke trash. They don't want to give up their hater's high.
