shareyeah the kidnappers knew the girl was sick so the wife / maid / nurser / accomplice took the same route as them in case the girl would need help cuz she was in on it, and pretended a surprise trip to her husband as an excuse to him to travel there.

shareI think getting away to see her sick mother was the ostensible reason for her escape. The other is that she just wanted out of that detox place. She blew off the group meeting at the start, she was kinda rude to the tattooed chick with the phone, and the detox staff people were jerks. So I think her escape was really about getting out of there: the sick mother was just an excuse
