Is the WW2 prequel still on?

Ralph Maccio said in passing last year that he wanted to do a Mr. Miyagi WW2 sort of prequel to explain his early life. Anyone know of anything like this happening? I low key don’t want it to happen. I’m sick of WW2 stuff. I’d literally rather watch a soap opera style love triangle with Elizabeth Shue breaking up Daniel’s marriage.

I haven't seen a great war movie since Rambo part 2. I'd love to see a Mr Miyagi WW2 war story where he takes on an entire army of the Japanese, freeing the captured Americans on one of the Pacific Islands

Whats even worse, now that I think about it, is that it has already been established in the first or second movie, that Miyagi ran away from the war by hiding on a boat on its way to the US. They’re gonna have to pretend that isn’t cannon to make a WW2 movie work with Miyagi.

Perhaps he went rogue and took on the Japanese army alone. Perhaps he wanted to free that woman he loved from the part 2 movie on some island in the Pacific

Mr Miyagi wouldn't have to turn rogue.

The better way to frame this would be to show Mr Miyagi more as an unstoppable, Rambo like, force of nature killing literally hundreds of Americans single handedly.

Uncle Sam realises that with Mr Miyagi in the way they'll never force Japan to surrender by conventional methods and therefore they are reluctantly forced to turn to the ultimate weapon...

Thus yes, we see that "peace loving" Mr Miyagi is effectively solely responsible for the USA dropping nuclear weapons on Japan! The ultimate twist.

I love that idea
