I believe it happened, but 6 million seems like a far fetched number.

Yes. I can understand why it feels very high because 1. people primarily think about one location when it comes to the holocaust, Auschwitz. But 80% of Jews were killed elsewhere.
2. Most people don't know perhaps that Germany had an absolutely ridiculous military budget,75% of their GDP. and Essentially 100% of perhaps the Largest economy of Europe at the time was devoted to this project. Of course, the damage had to be insane when Germany was sharing borders with much smaller states where Jews were a minority, but still in the millions.
Seems unlikely. Why did the Germans give their prisoners swimming pools and theaters. But at the same time they are sending them to gas chambers, constructing roller coasters of death, using masturbation machines to kill them, skinning them for lamp shades, making soap from their fat, killing them by putting them in a sack with wild animals. Any other ridiculous claims i am missing? some people making those claims are highly citied authors for historical purposes.

Lolz. I'll never comprehend the sheer stupidity of holocaust deniers. Taking into account that even the main perps themselves never denied it. Himmler, Hoess, Goring, Kaltenbrunner all openly admitted the mass murdering. There are literally interviews with Nazi camp wardens meticulously describing how many thousands they killed on a daily basis. But for some odd reason the antisemitic dumbfucks don't seem to listen to their role models on this issue.

I suspect that some people question because if the holocaust had been as successful as some claim then shouldn't there be fewer Jews left? The fact that they aren't living in a world free of Jews inspires some to become indignant and pour scorn on the accusation of genocide.
It's like those geniuses how say "Biggest snowstorm in decades out there. And I'm supposed to believe in climate change and the polar ice melting because of greenhouse gases?"
Great point. Nazis were meticulous record-keepers, much to their detriment. Unless when it came to gold trains. :P
shareMany of them denied it during Nürnberg trials. They were also tortured and coerced to confess. The camp leader of Auschwitz "confessed" an absurdly high number of Jewish victims which was later reduced by a great number.

shareSeriously? They weren't concentration camps they were running. They were death factories. They produced dead people at the fastest, most efficient methods they could think of. That was their entire point. To completely obliterate the Jewish race from existence. We have tons of writings from all the top officers stating that was the goal. By the end, they were killing them so fast they couldn't even use the crematorium for most of them. They would just take them to an actively burning fire pit, shoot them, and then toss them in.
