is it as woke as people say?

Yeah, it sucks ballz.
Sarah is a whiny old frump.
Dani is a cute tiny girl who turns butch and "badass" (a man) to fight terminators and somehow she's supposed to be more important than John.
Grace looks androgenic and is supposed to be a respectable replacement for Arnie's T-800.
Speaking of the T-800, he's not a killing machine anymore, he's a domesticated cyborg in a sexless marriage and he sells drapes. Not kidding.
It blows.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, although it wasn't as good as Geneysis

If someone were to tell that Arnold's Terminator was going to be an interior decorator that selects what kinds of drapes go into what kind of room to Arnold or Cameron 30 years ago, they would have thought they were crazy.

Oh and let's not forget the "I wish you two weren't so White" line. Being White is - of course - bad and this isn't in any way shape or form racist.

Bowie did androgyny better. Had it starred Bowie I might have watched it.

Late to the party but may as well chime in:

1: Movie is pro illegal immigration, as evident with Dani and many others illegally crossing over in America, and it attempts to portray all the illegals as victims just trying to survive.

2: Movie is pro feminist, and makes it that an illegal Mexican girl has to save humanity by punching white thugs in a Terminator-infested future. I'm not even kidding, it makes no sense and the movie never bothers to explain why or how Dani saves humanity, only that she's the chosen one to do so.

3: Grace's introduction has her beating up a bunch of cops after she teleports in from the future, and there's a couple nearby. You would think she would take the girl's clothes for some audience eye-candy, but instead they have her strip the guy down and take his clothes and steal his car.

4: There's a running theme throughout the entire film about emasculating men, or making them secondary or beneath women, as explained with Arnold's T-101 being domesticated as a cuckold interior decorator who looks after his wife's child (not even kidding).

5: Dani's brother could have been a decent way to make the film interesting given all the main characters have uber-plot armor, but they made sure there were no other human males to root for in the film and ensured they did nothing heroic enough to take away from the wahmen power, opposite of the previous films where people like Dyson and Reece sacrificed themselves in heroic ways to secure the future.

6: I'm sure there's more I'm missing but I just can't be bothered to comb through it all.

I liked it. It is a well made movie. The action was good, the acting was solid. The solider Grace looked like a soldier, not a supermodel, but that’s ok. You could see Dani’s character development but could also see her inherent strength that just needed to mature. She’s relatable, not some Mary Sue like Star Wars Rey.
