Rotten Tomatoes: top critics score is only 63%

Top critic score is 63%

Total critics score is 79%

Why such a discrepancy, and is that common

reply

Go watch the movie and find yourself if you like it. Or just stfu and fuck off with these retarded posts.

The idea is to avoid spending time and money on a movie that isn’t good. That’s why the overplayed “go watch the movie and find yourself if you like it” isn’t viable unless the movie is available for free. I don’t want to financially support a movie that isn’t well done

it's not too common in my experience. sometimes you'll see a little split, but i think it's pretty rare to see such a stark split. not that i've done a deep dive into it.

i wonder if it's more common among comic book movies where some of the regular critic ratings are coming from sites & yt channels that are explicitly comic-film related? i doubt that there would be enough to move the needle enough to cause such a divide...just a thought.

the metacritic score is 56, which is pretty close to the rt avg top critic rating.

I knew the 80% must be wrong. There's an explanation nobody wants to talk about.

RT added a shitload of amateur critics a few years back. Because DEI partly. They're mostly young reviewers from blogs and sites nobody's heard of.
