How are they doing so well now?

Okay, so we've heard several stories of former Flag or SeaOrg members and how they finally decided and managed to leave. We know that many of them started as kids, never went to High School or College, never had any kind of real education, worked for "the church" 24/7 on 365 days a year. CoS provided for them in terms of housing and food and everything else and even if they made some money it was more of an allowance than an actual salary.

Then they manage to break away, they leave, sometimes secretly. All they have is what they are wearing and maybe a few more things and (if they are lucky) a few hundred bucks in their pocket. They have no formal education, none or very few friends on the outside, no bank account, pretty much nothing. At the age of 35-40 or so.

Then only a few years later each and every one of them has a great job, a large house with a yard, and all kinds of other stuff!? How?!

Is it really that easy for a former cult member without education or references to get a high-paying job, buy a house and a car and raise a fairy tale family?! I really don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with it, good for them. It's just intriguing in a time where highly qualified people with college degrees struggle to get a job and make a life.

In American you need a college degree to even get a job as a receptionist, so it is really interesting how they managed to have a big house.

I wish they would go into it, maybe if there is a second season. It would also make them less victims, and show how they took back their lives and power. It would be helpful for many people to see that.

Well, how are all religions doing so well? Because people are gullible sheep who for some reason like to believe in bull *beep* It's sad but most people need something to believe in. Scientology is no different to Christianity or any other bull *beep* religion. People are stupid. It's that simple.

Facetious much? Plenty of people do just fine without a college degree. With all the 'skills' they learn from scientology they could probably sell raincoats to a fish.

I wondered as well but then I think, these people were trained very early on to focus and work work work with no vacation or r&r. That type of work ethic should get you somewhere.

They probably just tried. Most people in the USA can have a successful life as long as they put forth the effort. These people aren't dumb. Maybe they had some education anyway, I just watched one last night where the 15 year old Scientologist youth started attending MIT. They can get a GED once they are free, I'm sure there are support groups that help them and set some things up. But I'm sure it all boils down to they want to succeed and have a good life (making up for lost time) and they put forth the hard work and do what they need.

When you hear about poverty in the USA it is rarely from people working their tails off who have a plan for their lives. Most of the cases are those who drop out of school, girls who get pregnant at 15, people addicted to drugs and alcohol. Rarely do sound people who work hard fail. If they don't have education they probably study and get their GED.

I have no fucking clue. This is an extremely EVIL cult, and they should have their tax exempt status revoked.
