Lost Boy's song!

That was such an awesome ending with David playing I Still Believe from The Lost Boy's, did he really do that?

reply

That really was a highlight of the series so far. I don't know if Koresh really did that or not, but he SHOULD have! Great moment of defiance. I must say, this show and reading Thibodeau's book has really opened my eyes about what happened at Waco. I used to believe the standard line about how Koresh was another Jim Jones and they were all insane fanatics. Koresh was a little off, but the Davidians certainly did NOT deserve what happened to them.

The show is based on former FBI agent Gary Noesner's book, Stalling for Time: My Life as an FBI Hostage Negotiator. I have not read it, but there is a very big chance he described it in the book, maybe someone can who has read the book.

reply

Yeah, David Thibodeau also wrote a book called, A Place Called Waco: A Survivor's Story, i'd say either him or Gary most likely wrote about it if it did happen.

reply

I just read Thibodeau's book and I don't recall that happening in it.

reply

Could have been just made up for the show to have some cool ending to an episode, but i'd loved for that to have actually happened.

reply

I agree. It was a very cool moment.

reply

Since you read his book, i was curious did Thibodeau actually get close to a girl named Michelle and get fake married to her?

reply

Yes, that did happen pretty much the same way as it did in the show. Thibodeau also was emotionally close to several others in the compound as well, who were not mentioned. The book was very good reading. A real eye-opener.

reply

Ah thats so cool, but man that must have messed him up for a long time knowing how she died along with her kid and the others. I felt horrible for him in the final episode when he went back to where the compound was and found that necklace he gave Michelle's little girl in the ashes. I don't know if i could come back from something like that, poor guy.

I need to get his book.

I really feel for Thibodeau and for all the Davidians, especially the kids. I can't believe how I had been conned into accepting the official "crazed cultists" version for so long. If they had just apprehended Koresh when he went into town one day none of this would have happened. Even so, all they had on him was failure to pay a tax stamp on the weapons they had converted. The treatment those people received was disgusting and frightening.
