Superdog
James Gunn is so smug that he thinks he can squeeze a super fricken dog into the movie without it affecting the tone. He's in for a shock.
This movie looks atrocious.

This movie will be #7 for SUPERMAN and yet, the last one was what?? MAN OF STEEL?? I see this probably making as much or less than that. I feel like when it comes to DC, BATMAN is pretty much their cash cow
shareIf people think having Robin with Batman makes things worse, I don't see how adding his dog to Superman is going to be any better.
shareFamily movies tend to do well, I think DC studio executives decided to do less dark, more kids friendly movies.
shareLooks like a fantastic film to me. Trailers can be deceiving (Wonder Woman '84 is a prime example of this) but the dog adds the perfect amount of levity, and is what Superman is all about: fun.
shareKrypto ... Take me home.
shareYou must be trolling. I haven't been this excited about a movie release based on a trailer in many years.
shareHow come? There wasn't even much dialouge
shareThe trailer had a 1978 Reeve Superman vibe.
Superman: The Movie (1978) = Best superhero movie ever made in the history of the universe
Trailer dialogue which counted:
from crowd, "Superman! Superman! Superman!"
I've got a feeling you will be disappointed, when you try to compare with a classic like that.
It might end up being an expensive copycat like Gladiator II or The Force Awakens.
I don't expect Superman (2025) to be as good as the original. But, I'm happy that they're returning to the fun, heroic and hopeful vision which existed rather than the dark antihero Cavill version.
Gunn is a fan of the Reeve version so we're getting elements from it like the music and acting while also creating something different and updating the special effects. I already like that they introduced more superheroes and villains instead of repeatedly focusing on only Lex Luther. And Gunn appears very philosophical about Superman's kindness and doing the right thing in a cynical world:

I even liked some things about "Superman Returns" which attempted to continue the Reeve version.
This will give DC an opportunity to make more money off the back end by issuing a Krypto branded cryptocurrency.
