Looks ridiculous.. But also really fun. Yeah I'm watching this for sure.
shareEmmerich just seems to churn this stuff out endlessly. It's all spectacle and nothing else.
His films always have a high concept hook...end of the world, aliens invading, now the moon crashing into earth.
I imagine it will be 2 hours plus of over the top CGI and destruction, with poorly drawn characters, endless last minute/second escape scenarios and mawkish sentimentality.
Seriously, the guy should just make trailers for a living.
I have enjoyed a lot of his movies. Independence Day is a legit popcorn classic. The Patriot is also really entertaining and well-made. Midway took me two viewings to really appreciate but I realized it's a good film also.
Then again, on the other hand, 2012 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and Independence Day: Resurgence is a Top 5 for Most Disappointing Sequel.
This looks like it good be fun but one complaint I have is that he has come to rely way too much on CGI. Part of what makes ID4 so good is that he used a lot of great practical effects. Watching this trailer, on the other hand, I feel like half the movie looks like a video game cut scene.
Ha Ha. Moon is fake! NAZIs must live inside.
