Why does this exist at all?
Does Jim Davis have grandchildren he needs to send to expensive colleges?
I was around when the strip started in the late 1970s. It was a huge phenomenon almost right from the start. I remember the kids at my school passing around the first 3 books and almost getting into fights over them. This was soon followed by the first animated version, with Lawrence Music doing the voiceover.
By 1982, the strip had said absolutely everything it possibly had to say, and has been on auto-pilot repeat for the last 40 years. Davis most likely phones in his ideas to his staff from the golf course or his own private island.
Does anyone seriously consider themselves a fan of a cynical comic strip that will be over 45 years old by the time this is released? Do young kids even know who the character is anymore? Who on earth is this for, and who on earth is insane enough to finance this?
