How does repackaged Marcy remembers the collapse of shelter 41

027/Grace stated in epi 11 that she had to work with the material available to her, which was Marcy in her future condition, prior to being sent back.
Grace states she did not have access to Marcy's memories of the 21st century. This implies that the information she used was future Marcy prior to being sent back in Grace's future.

Grace herself comes from a future with the faction and where shelter 41 did not collapse. Repackaged Marcy should originate from this future as well. But repackaged Marcy in epi 12 remembers the collapse.

How can this seeming contradiction be explained?

Is there some chance that repackaged Marcy could be a double agent? That the faction-era Marcy that was used to reconstitute her is actually loyal to the faction and is in effect a plant now?

It would make for an interesting twist for season 2.

I was wondering which team member would end up being a spy for the Faction, and your idea seems reasonable.

So she went from being a vegetable to being a plant? Sorry, too obvious.

I think its a very good question. There are others. For instance, how did Grace, Ellis and even the Director knew that the travelers mission was to stop Helios whatever? If the asteroid has not affected us, future people wouldn't have a reason to send people to change the past.

I have one theory, I think the director saved all the voluntaires conciousness years ago in a device that is free of time. I don't know how, technobabble. That way he could have people with memories of the original timeline remembering how it was all before beginnig the project change the time. And that is what Grace used for Marci.

Oh, that's an easy one: The Director and others in the program have access to reports from Travelers in the past describing their orders, activities, and the apparent changes they've caused.

And probably suggestions of further activity, e.g.
"'The Engineer' got killed, but the mission still has a chance of success. There are several soldiers inside the antimatter storage facility -- send someone to take over one at the earliest possible moment, and turn the key."
