Anne (the cop)
I've never been a big fan of the Anne character. While I liked her particular fresh blend of characteristics (don't see a lot of lesbian Christians in media) and thought she was funny (and the actor did a great job), I always found her off-putting, but I never quite knew why. I was re-watching the show (because it's great) and I think I can finally articulate it: she feels entitled to just butt in. She constantly imposes on people, particularly Joel and Sheila, whether it's passive-aggressively telling them to comfort Lisa or soft-bullying Joel into giving her his stuff. She's really nervy, and she is kind of a bully.
