Anyone here seen "The Amphibian Man" (1962)?

I highly recommend this cult Soviet Russian-language (of course) movie classic, on which this recent acclaimed Oscar winning blockbuster is heavily based on - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055844/

But to those of you who HAVE seen it AND recently saw "The Shape of Water", what are the similarities, and which movie did you like better, what did you think of it and this one and any other thoughts, thanks.
