I may have missed an important detail, but I don't understand why Jack cut Nicky completely out of his life over what happened in Vietnam. It was horrific, but I wonder why Jack didn't try to get his brother help. He had no idea it was an accident, but with how close they previously were it seems like he would have stuck by him.

Agree. It seems out of character for Jack to just leave Nicky--no matter what.

I'm now two episodes behind, so hopefully by now they've explained more. I think it may have something to do with Jack wanting to put the war behind him, and he associated his brother with bad war memories.
