Leo was paid 40 million

and then...... the movie bombed

reply

And he still doesn't want to marry you, poor one. πŸ₯²β€‹
Btw. the movie did well in D and will also do well in other countries on DVD and stream.

reply

I'm not interested in Leo, he's lost his looks to the point of affecting this film's box office as evidenced by people who refused to watch it due to his unattractiveness.

And a bomb is a bomb. How can it do well on streaming when the service has doubled its price and caused most people to unsubscribe uh..... remains to be seen.

reply

Bombideldi bomb. πŸ’£β€‹
Currently everything bombs or is a bomb, in a negative sense.
Is a sex bomb now an unsexy ugly frog? πŸΈβ€‹
Bombastic!

That was a rhetorical question, dear hateful socky. πŸ§¦β€‹

reply

"I'm not interested in Leo, he's lost his looks to the point of affecting this film's box office as evidenced by people who refused to watch it due to his unattractiveness."

That has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read.

Actors have to be attractive, otherwise people won't watch their movies?

He has aged naturally, he has lost that boyish look which was a hindrance to him for so many years. He now plays adult roles and is much more believable.

reply

People are literally refusing to watch because he looks so terrible.

"Actors have to be attractive, otherwise people won't watch their movies?" Literally, yes. This is a fact of Hollywood, you sound naive or just making up an argument to oppose me. And audiences have the right to decide if they want to watch a movie.

The real dumb statement was the poster above assuming I want to marry Leo.

He still looks like an overgrown baby and the squeaky voice and lack of maturity doesn't help.

reply

What...all successful Hollywood actors are attractive?

Don't even know where to start with that...Charles Bronson, Ernest Borgnine, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo... to name but 4, but there must be thousands.

And you are delusional if you think Di Caprio still has a squeaky voice and looks baby faced...clearly you have not seen anyone his recent movies.

reply

And look at all of the actors and actresses Hollywood pushes down our throats because of their looks. They have no talent at all but are there to push a specific standard of beauty onto the masses. And I'm sorry but that list you've provided... are probably actors who are successful because they are serious about their work and work hard but those are not A-listers known by everyone. Thats what I was referring to, Hollywood fame and filling up screens with charismatic and pleasant faces.

reply

I think that people might be refusing to watch it in theatres due to the run time. I did read that some theatres tried to do an intermission and were told to stop. It's 3.5 hours long. Even Broadway doesn't make one sit for 3.5 hours without giving an intermission.

reply

That is a factor as well. Very odd choice for Scorsese and Thelma to not allow theatres to insert an intermission.

reply

Some few people just need to vent their envy and frustration wherever they are.
And then they try to appear like many (socks) to look more important.

Leonardo DiCaprio is a fantastic actor which he showed in several great movies.
And he portrayed Ernest Burkhart perfectly.
In fact, DiCaprio in the movie eerily resembles Burkhart regarding the old pictures.

reply

No matter what you say, the movie is a bomb and embarrassing for everybody involved. Now go and cheer on your gods the scammers who believe they've saved humanity with this film, pay double for Apple TV plus and convince yourself you love being scammed.

reply

I wouldn't say Bombed so long as they had the intention of making this movie an Apple TV Exclusive

reply

Why should it matter if a movie makes money? You either like it or you don't.

Some people seem to be literally obsessed with box office takings , trying to predict them, monitoring opening weekend etc.

It makes no difference whatsoever to my enjoyment of a movie, ans does not influence my decision to watch or not.

Far too many people seem to allow themselves to be told by others what they should and should not watch. Utterly pathetic.

reply

If a movie doesn't make $$$$ then chances are, you'll never have a followup, not to mention how much a waste of $$$$ the studio spent on said Bomb.. Why does it bother you if people follow box office?? It's not hurting you

reply

What makes you think I want a follow up? If I like the movie I am happy. Does not bother me if there is another one.

And I think I am entitled to say that there are people literally obsessed with box office takings. It does not bother me, I am simply pointing out a fact.

And the truth is its usually people with agendas against studios, actors or genres who use the "this movie will bomb" type of post to spread negativity who obsessed about box office takings.

reply

The point of the thread is that Leo was paid that huge salary for supposedly being a "box office draw" and then the movie flopped with audiences... theatres were half full on opening night. Leo's fanboys are the ones making a huge deal about the box office performance of his films but now that he has a bomb they have 10000x excuses.

reply

what's the source he was paid $40 megabux?

reply

It looked better than the $30 IMDb-rumour-millions. πŸ˜‰β€‹

(as above in my other reply)

reply

Lalaland have only themselves to blame. Why pay any actor that much when those actors had their breakthrough when they weren't commanding millions in salaries because nobody knew them. And yet somehow those nobodies drew huge crowds to the movie theaters and had their breakthrough as novices. So why not hire a newcomer for a million or less instead of DiCaprio? How many times did movies with big names flop? How come DiCaprio's box office magic didn't work here? Yet, Lalaland keeps paying huge sums for "superstars" who often don't deliver.

reply

You're asking other good questions.
But the real question is, if your assumptions are correct?????? πŸ™„β€‹

reply

Lalaland agree to overpay Leo because he’s a climate change poster boy. He is a United Nations messenger of peace with a special focus on climate change!! He is useful in pushing the climate scam.
