Guess, I'm in the minority. I like it

During all the previews leading up to this show I wasn't feeling it. Then I read a article from a movie/tv critic who I generally vibe with, and he raved about it so I checked it out. I have to say I like the show. During the previews it seemed like a bad premise, but to me they made it work.

Dark comedies generally garner a love/hate reaction from viewers. And I imagine that this one is no different. I guess one of the reasons I relate to this show is that my wife and I are always backstorying and envisioning the lives of people we only know peripherally. I could see us becoming obsessed if one of our "characters" went missing.

From what I'm seeing from on forums, many of the haters don't seem to completely understand what they're watching. The textbook nuances so to speak of the black comedy, absurdism, satire.

What they're complaining about is exactly the point of the show. The over-the-top-ness of characters, their general awfulness as people, the extreme situations they face.

Unfortunately, swimming at this depth all the time might not appeal to the average viewer, which doesn't bode well for a show's longevity.

I really enjoyed it as well one of the few shows I have binged in the last few years

The people complaining about this show on this board are the exact millennials this show pokes fun at. They just can't be honest with themselves :)

I loved it. It had interesting (and annoying) characters and funny moments. I watched the first episode, and wasn't that interested, but I went back and binged the rest of the episodes, and the whole series was just a lot of fun. I enjoyed the ending, as well.

I really enjoyed the combination of social satire and a legitimate mystery to be solved, as well as so many characters being quirky enough to be cringe-worthy. It was like a wacky combination of Seinfeld and Scooby Doo for the 21st century.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

I liked it for what it was. I was interested and entertained by it. There were some flaws, and no the characters weren't likable (which I think was the point)...but I still liked watching it! It was supposed to be exaggerated and making them look pretty bad, I think. No one character was actually fully redeemable, although they did have some sympathetic moments. They were selfish, especially Dory I think (well and the friend lying about cancer).

Anyway, I didn't find it "realistic" myself because the characters were all very exagerated, but as a satire it held my interest and I liked watching it. If there is another season, I'd watch it.
