Guess, I'm in the minority. I like it

During all the previews leading up to this show I wasn't feeling it. Then I read a article from a movie/tv critic who I generally vibe with, and he raved about it so I checked it out. I have to say I like the show. During the previews it seemed like a bad premise, but to me they made it work.

Dark comedies generally garner a love/hate reaction from viewers. And I imagine that this one is no different. I guess one of the reasons I relate to this show is that my wife and I are always backstorying and envisioning the lives of people we only know peripherally. I could see us becoming obsessed if one of our "characters" went missing.

+1
I was bored beyond belief from pilot ~ episode 3, but then it legitimately surprised me and is going on the faves list. I hope it gets renewed for a second season. I don't think it's marketed correctly, or to the right audience, and so the unintended audience sees, and subsequently, hates it.

I enjoyed it as well even though a couple of characters bothered me but what would they do for a second season? This is why I wouldn't be a good TV writer, I'd be stuck :/. So if they did a second season AND it was good I'd be very impressed.

Michael901, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! I LOVE this show. See my Review in that section of this site. I'm the fourth to review it, and the only one who liked it. :0)

I'm binge watching it now. It's actually pretty good.

Just finished. Liked it quite a bit. Fun and true to the generation.

I really like it. I watched a lot of it yesterday and then bought the season pass on itunes. The first episode was hard to get into, but once I realized the show was highlighting Millennial narcissism rather than supporting it, I started to enjoy it. I hope it has a second season.

I think it was pretty great and so do most critics so I wouldn't say we are in the minority.

Yea, you are probably right. I forgot that forums like this generally attract a disproportionate number of detractors.

I liked it too. I almost didn't watch it after seeing such hate for it on this board, but became hooked on episode 2.
The characters are not particularly likable so that could be the reason why people have such a distaste for this show. Some people seem to want their characters likable and redeemable.

Even Chantal wasn't a "good person" which I found hilarious.

Loved that Alia Shawkat is on another show where the characters are self absorbed asses.

I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it.

You're not in the minority. I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in an afternoon, anticipating each episode's deepening of the mystery and tension, and laughing at the absurd utterances and misadventures of this motley crew of discontents.
Alia Shawcat is great (as are the other actors), but my interest in the show was spurred by my love for John Early's mordant wit. Hopefully, people will seek out more of his work as a result of Search Party.
