What political/social statement is her character trying to make in these films?

Tomboy is my best guess. Likes to handle manly machinery. Still, bowl cuts aren't that bad. Maybe she wants to be like Justin Beiber? Has that Japanese-style front bangs cut.

Maybe you’re right, but most Tomboys don’t dress that sharply. Her look just doesn’t make sense to me, maybe she is pandering to the LGBTQ community or something.

True, her style while in the prison box was imposing to the scenery around her. Like a in your face high contrast colors to the transparent background. As if she attended a fashion show before she got caught by Jakob's crew or that billionaire dicatator guy (forgot his name).

Yea, thats a plot hole. That was a professional cut so no way shes going to a high end spa to get her hair done while running from the law
