Season 2 cross scene

What in the bloody hell was that? The overly menacing music, jarring filter change, almost comedic running of a gay dude trying to play a straight actor, the black actress with the giant glasses staring in disapprovement. It was damn near slapstick comedy territory. That was one of the worst scenes in the entire series. What the hell was the point of that whole sequence it was retarded.

That was so awful, wasn’t it? The filter they used was so terrible. Like something you’d do in iMovie.
I’m guessing they’re were trying to make it look like it was film from the 70’s news crew, but it didn’t work. Mostly because they didn’t shoot it from the correct angles to be one of the news crew cameras. Just an awkward scene, & I too couldn’t help but laugh. The intense music didn’t help it either.

Also, what was the rush? Just to set up a cross in front of a church? I must’ve missed something. I know they were trying to memorialize the scene of the crime - so the killer would come back. But then he runs to a church with a cross?

reply

It’s so confusing. I feel like I missed an entire scene that was suppose to give context to the cross scene. What was the urgency? What was the point of it all? What the hell is going on? Laughably bad scene.

reply

Hah Exactly, what was so important about his put together wooden cross that it just had to be in front of the church as they walk in? I’d get it if it had one of the murdered kids name or something on it, but it was just another cross at a church that already had many crosses...

I must’ve missed something also. Awful scene indeed.

reply

I thought the crosses were to be put up at sites where two victims were found.

reply

That’s what I thought too, until he was running to place that one outside of the church...? Still do not get why that cross was so important.

reply

I am not going to rewatch the episode, but I am certain the crosses were intended for the sites. They wanted the killer to return to the scenes of the crimes.

reply

I’m agreeing with you, but what I’m saying is - then why did he run to only place 1 single wooden cross at a Church of all places. That wasn’t one of the crime scenes.

reply

Bad writing.

reply

Agreed. Bad writing indeed.

reply

I think the scene was meant to underscore that even this little the FBI could not do for Atlanta's missing children.

reply

Possibly. But it was a bad scene.

reply

They were showing that because of red tape and inefficiency at the FBI they missed a great opportunity to catch the killer.

reply

"the black actress with the giant glasses staring in disapprovement"

That's all her character ever does.
