Yep. It advertises itself as a post apocalyptic sci-fi series but ultimately season one was just another police procedural in an unusual setting, like we haven't got enough of them. I found it dreary and predictable with ropey dialogue and some dodgy acting (Common I'm looking at you). Typically of TV shows they're dragging the story out, this should have been a mini-series.
The biggest plot hole was in the parachuting loop episode. The first time that mission failed meant automatically that the Director never existed so it was game over for the travelers.
Because the faction would have still been after the code in her head, even without 001. My take is the Director allowed David to die to give Marcy the motivation (for lack of a better word) to pull the trigger on herself.
What do you think he was going to do? Tickle her? Jeez...
"the black actress with the giant glasses staring in disapprovement"
That's all her character ever does.
I just rewatched the whole series and I had to skip all the home lives rubbish, it's even worse second time around. Nancy and her kid crucifying weirdo son, the tedious and awful Debbie, just insufferable stuff. I didn't mind Wendy's scenes, worth it for the epic burn she gave the bartender dyke at the end of their relationship.
They've done this in TV shows for decades though, I'm not sure why they're still convinced any of us remotely care about the private lives of these characters to this extent.
She's amazing in this. Her scenes in season 2 when she turned into a hairy little policeman were hilarious.
Orson is amazing in this movie, a force of nature.
De Niro and Pacino were considered hugely charismatic and were both good looking guys when they were at their peak. You don't become a successful leading man for years and years if you haven't got screen charisma.
It wasn't as good as the TV series but it was a decent watch with a few laughs. Paul Rudd as Scarface was the highlight.
