I disparaged the movie before it came out because I'd prefer they make movies for women that are original. Now that it's been out for a while, I'm curious as to what people who've seen it actually think about it.
Entertaining film. Not great, a bit generic and not as clever as it thinks it is, but fast-paced and fun. I'll probably watch it again, if it comes on HBO when I have nothing better to do, to enjoy the performances and the scenes at the Met Ball.
FYI the biggest surprise was that Anne Hathaway stole the film from Bullock, Blanchette, and Bonham-Carter, with her dreadful bitchy actress character. And I usually love Bullock, Blanchette, and Bonham-Carter, so I was pretty surprised, but the fact is whenever Hathaway came on I perked up and wondered what she was going to say next.
Finally got around to seeing this. I found it nothing more than an average film. I really tried to like it since I am a Sandra Bullock fan and I thoroughly enjoyed Ocean's 11, but this one was boring with no suspense what-so-ever. I also felt the cast lacked any chemistry and charm on screen; they just didn't gel together and there was very little development. Obviously they are planning on making a trilogy, but count me out for the next two. 5/10
I think what has been said here a number of times...Forgettable.
I found the characters not very likeable.
There were also too many convenient plot points (
She just happened to get the job they needed her to get, she just happened to have a sister who could jimmy a magnet, et
)
I felt there was no real buildup of suspense to the heist, so
when they finally pulled it off, I wasn't wowed by it at all
.
Not a movie I am going to watch over and over again. It was there, I watched it, enjoyed aspects of it, but will probably never see it again or remember the plot a month from now.
