Blanchett is just an "awardsy darling". Hollywood press hypes those people. But they have no box-office power. And their awardsy movies usually have small budget. So they don't make real money from those.
That's why she took this role. Because she want's millions that will allow her to live rich life. And her awardsy movies and Oscars will not do that.
Hart is probably 10 times more rich then her. He WAS payed more then her. No doubt.

THAT'S WHY YOU SEE THOSE AWARDSY ACTORS JOINING MCU AND OTHER POP-CORN MOVIES. AS SOME SUPPORTING CHARACTERS. LIKE VILLAIN OR PARENT. BECAUSE THEY WANT MONEY THEY DON'T RECEIVE FROM THEIR AWARDS.
ACTORS OFTEN COMPLAIN THAT THEY RECEIVED OSCARS AND THOUGHT THEIR LIFE WILL NOW CHANGE AND THEY WOULD VE INVITED TO BIG MOVIES. AND THEN NOTHING CHANGED. NO ONE CALLED. BEING AWARD WINNING MOVIE STAR IS NOT MEAN BEING RICH.
THAT'S WHY CATE BLANCHETT TOOK THIS CRAPPY ROLE. BECAUSE THEY PAYED MONEY. AND THEN IT FLOPPED. BECAUSE SHE IS NOT BOX-OFFICE DRAW AND HAS NO FAN SUPPORT.
IT FLOPPED BECAUSE IT IS NOT VERY GOOD....CATE TOOK THE ROLE BECAUSE SHE STRIVES FOR DIVERSITY IN HER ROLES....A QUICK SCROLL OF HER RESUME WILL SHOW YOU SHE HAS PLAYED ONE DISTINCT ROLE AFTER ANOTHER.
SHE IS PLENTY RICH TOO.
NOT RICH ENOUGH. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE GREED AND ACTORS NEVER FEEL RICH ENOUGH. SHE TOOK THIS CRAPPY ROLE FOR EASY MONEY.

I would think Cate Blanchett deserves a bigger paycheck than Kevin Hart for this movie.

Considering that she is the star of the movie and Kevin Hart plays a secondary role, I would expect Cate B to get a bigger paycheck, but of course it doesn't always work that way.
