The bathroom, close-quarters fight scene.....(SPOILERS)

Just a flat-out awesome, adrenaline-fueled brawl. And I love the misdirection of the trailers, leading us all to believe the fight was between Walker and Hunt. I was pretty certain, going into the movie, that walker would start out as an adversary, and end up being allied with Hunt (which would have been cliched and lame). Instead, it was quite the opposite, which was pretty cool (making Walker a badass villain)....but it sucked how he met his fate. It was also cool how they worked together to unleash fury on the Asian guy (at least for a while). As skilled as the film established that guy to be, however, there's no way he would have allowed Hunt to bum rush him near the end of the brawl. He'd have used Hunt's momentum against him and just side-stepped. Other than that, the fight was fantastic. And Cavill's arm reload and haymakers are effin EPIC. This movie just took him to the next level....and he needs to be Bond.

Walker was wearing a beard, so it was quite obvious he was one of the Apostles.

Hahahahaha. Very good.

Quality bathroom fight scene... Fun, visceral and you really feel the protagonists take their hits... Great to see

reply

Couldn't agree more. After this and The Man from UNCLE the search is over... Cavill is Bond.

I actually clapped when Walker met his fate! I love Henry Cavill, but Walker was awful. LOL!

That bathroom scene was amazing! The entire movie was great!

reply

Agreed! It was a great fight scene (
in a badly frequented bathroom
).

it's great stuff. on par with the best moments from the raid, just in terms of energy & excitement i think.

This entire sequence is beyond impressive and tense as hell. It’s unequivocally as good as an action scene can get in terms of how well choreographed (nothing short of amazing) and exciting it is. And all three actors in it deserve some major credit, however, the scene probably wouldn’t be what it is without Liang Yang.

In regards to Walker, I wasn’t that surprised by who he turned out to be. I was hoping he would ultimately be on Ethan’s side, though. At the same time, I’m pleased with the way he was taken care of. :) His final confrontation with Ethan was ridiculously great, and honestly Walker had it coming. Cavill did a fantastic job as the baddie.

Yeah it was good, but they should've got a more intimidating guy instead of some skinny asian dude. He sure gave Cruise and Cavil a lot of trouble. Big Henry Cavil looked like he could have easily knocked the guy out with one punch

The truth is they didn’t just get “some skinny asian dude”. They got one of the most in-demand stunt performers/martial arts specialists in Hollywood; his credits include... the 5th Mission Impossible. I’m sure many people will agree with you that he doesn’t look very intimidating, but make no mistake about it... the guy is no joke. What he does in Fallout is really target practice for him.

So given his background and expertise, getting him to be a part of Fallout’s intense, close-packed and big Bathroom fight scene made perfect sense. Furthermore, though size may come as an advantage in a real fight, ultimately skill, technique, and endurance is what matters. Yeah, Cavill is a big boy who looks like he can knock the living daylights out of any average-sized man. But even he would tell you that he’s no match for Liang Yang (skinny Asian dude).

Lastly, I have good reason to believe that most big guys (including trained ones) like Cavill wouldn’t be able to move as fast and smoothly as Yang— or even help choreograph and execute the Bathroom fight as good as Yang unsurprisingly did.

reply

Well when you put it that way lol

For all I knew they picked him out of a hat, but since he is one of the most in-demand stunt performers/martial arts specialists in Hollywood then I stand corrected
