Why make this movie?

I will try not to be too condescending but what was the rationale for making this movie? The first one was terrible and filled with the most absolutely ridiculous rationalisations and logic ever. The idea that religious people feel persecuted when they make up over 75% of the population is laughable. To be honest I think that the only reason they feel persecuted is that they can see the truth in an "Emperors New Clothes" kind of way but don't know how to set themselves free. They possibly feel backed into a corner.

The company that makes these films knows they have a gullible audience who are happy to pay. It allows them to set the narrative for the arguments about God which are easily refuted and disproven just with the most basic childlike logic.

Like the first film, this is just an incredibly lame marketing video. How can this kind of juvenile nonsense not make any normal person (who is a Christian) squirm with embarrassment.

Unfortunately as long as they are making a prophet (yes, I spelt that correctly) they will keep on making these movies. Is it just me or does the title look similar to the Scary Movie franchise. Well I suppose they are similar in that they are really cheesy and are trying to scare people with illogical nonsense.

Blasphemy: A law to protect an All-Powerful, supernatural Deity from getting it's feelings hurt. NEWSFLASH: If God's not dead he can convince everyone himself. He does not need a group of self righteous narcissists to do it for him.

Making a movie about the true cornerstones about their own faith would be a humiliation fest, which - in their circles - nobody wants to see. They know why.

They want to distract from the fact, that if you draw a line between good and bad behavior, between love and control, between understanding and hatred, between acceptance and poison, they would lose every day. Most of them love just the bad stuff of the religious drug, they are hooked on it.

Look alone at this board. Not a scent of understanding, just "you hate that I don't go to church and make stuff up that fits into my control issues my parents instilled in me because they feared...rain".

By their own faith, the final judgment is the job of their deity. Still they judge, without basis, with "new rules" they make up on the way.

This movies are always about them stepping clearly out of line, and then getting "unfairly" punished for it. And this made up unfairness, trying to get more "power" then they deserve, is just too good ooze and feeling not to make top selling movies about it.

I would presume that the creators made this movie because they thought it was God's will that they make it!

[Side note]: Now, I realise that this seems a bit ridiculous considering we all walk around and (most of us at least) haven't literally seen God. Many would claim this is because He is dead (or rather is a figment of many deluded people's imagination as some sort of unfortunate hand-me-down from a over-controlling liar). Others would claim that our inherent desire to be in control of our own lives and to be independent; coupled with God's desire not to remove our freewill was why.

[Back to the movie]: In truth, I completely agree that this film makes some pretty extreme steps from current American reality (the cases mentioned in the credits are bad but this took it rather far)... some of the moments in court were so frustratingly unrealistic. Nonetheless, elsewhere in the world this is sadly very realistic (excluding the publicity and big protests). I know this isn't the review section but I gave it a 7. 4/10 for film quality (so much cheese), 10/10 for making my favourite Guy the main character (that'll be Jesus, for the record).

[Side note 2]: I am really sorry for the number of people who claim Jesus is their life and don't act like Him. We all make mistakes but it is so sad when this clearly happens. I love you all, irrelevant of whether you think I'm mad or you're family and I know that my Father loves you too (PS. you're very welcome to join the family, Jesus is simply incredible - he bridges that gap mentioned in my first Side Note).

Sorry for rambling. Wish you all, all the best. Be blessed x
