Pitch Perfect 3 Storyline Ideas...and GO!

I also have an idea! It's just what I think would make sense. Since there isn't anything bigger than World's.

Story: After winning World's, Fat Amy & Bumper, and Beca & Jessie plan on getting married. Since being an intern and Jessie's job don't make a lot of money to pay for a wedding, and Bumper's security job is minimum wage, they get confronted by a strange person. The person tells them about an underground, top-secret, ultimate a cappella show down. The prize is a load of cash, but the entry fee is a lot. So, the Barden Bellas and The Treble Makers team up and face their way through unbelievable talent. In the end, the Barden Bellas and Treble Makers win in a close match. Fat Amy & Bumper, and Jessie & Beca have a double-wedding, inviting all their a cappella family, legacies, friends and family.

I'd love to see an underground theme in PP3, it just seems right because I can't really think of anything else that makes sense! But this is just my idea, though

I don't really like them being famous. What was great about the first movie is how they went from sucking and being outdated underdogs to totally rocking.

STORY IDEA:
Off Camera, the bellas have been acquired (or are being sponsored) by the wealthy founder of the Bellas acapella team (Played by someone like Carol Burnett), since she felt they had diverted from the original vision for the bellas: classy and classic. She's basically forcing them to sing outdated songs again that are taking them nowhere, They're even wearing those uniforms from the first movie. And worst of all, the school is closing the acapella programs because no one wants to join anymore. The bellas is the only club surviving since they're being financed with their sponsor's money.
On Camera, Emily (Hailee Stanfield) is now the leader of the team with new additions played by Alyson Stoner, Cara Delevigne, Alexandra Shipp, and others. They have had it with outdated song choices, so they call the girl who started it all, Becca. With the help of Fat Amy and Chloe, Becca's challenged to show their new sponsor how cool they can be if she would let them play new contemporary songs with cool mixes. After failing, Becca is not giving up, and is playing their new sponsor's game by trying to make old boring music sound cool by mixing it a little and meet her halfway. She's determined to give the Bellas back their status. Of course, Aubrey, Stacy, and Cynthia Rose would eventually be called to help Becca as well. And yeah, we would have a lot more Jesse than in the second movie, Although I still can't come up with a storyline for him. Bumper would be now in the commentary cabin with Gail, replacing John Michael Higgins.

I like many of the ideas that have been shared. The strength of the film is in the Bellas overcoming a huge obstacle to win in the end. Winning the National Championship (PP1), then the World Championship(PP2), leads us to a precipice of where do we go from here. It's daunting and requires a strong script that is without the cliches and ordinary expectations that Hollywood tends to present to us. They are on top of the world and seems there is nothing they can't overcome at the end of PP2. It is never explained how they are funded for their trips or if the school has them listed as a club or an activity supported by the university. For all intents and purposes, let's just assume the school has been funding them all along.

PP3 Starts with the Bellas reuniting to perform at Fat Amy and Bumper's wedding. It's been a couple years since the World's. They've kept in contact but the wedding gives them a chance to catch up. Fat Amy and Bumper's wedding is in New York since Fat Amy has gotten a job as a tv personality for the Today show. At the wedding she and the former Bellas come up with a story for Fat Amy to do regarding the Barden Bellas and following them through the year leading up to Nationals. Emily has success in her first year at the helm of the Bellas but there have been cutbacks at the university and because of this they have had to cut the number of girls in the group. It has caused all the groups on campus to cut their numbers causing some to completely fold. The Trebles are still around and have had a recent infusion of energy with some of their newest members. Even with their smaller group they are a force to be reckoned with and are avowing to take back being champions. Emily, though sure of herself and her own talents, loses confidence when in a rif-off with the Trebles, loses in badly. Defeated the Bellas go back to work on what they are doing wrong. When contacted by Fat Amy and told she wants to a story on the Bellas , Emily is thrilled and worried as she knows that the new Bellas are NOT the old Bellas and it will be shown.

The story follows the Bellas as they go to through the practice heading up to their first competition where they are soundly defeated. Fat Amy, interjects and can't handle watching her beloved Bellas becoming insignificant and losers. She calls in the former Bellas to help. The new group is smaller and in need of money to support recruiting in a few more girls. The old Bellas give a concert and performance to raise money for the new Bellas. Becca works her magic and all the girls from the original cast align to help in the concert. The new Bellas are in awe and Emily can see that she has not listened but has been a bit tyrannical in her running of the group. Fat Amy records the transition of the New Bellas as they find 3 more girls to join their group and incorporate them. With the help of all the previous cast they transform the new Bellas as they are given a wild card into nationals. Their performance at Nationals is great but the Trebles' is awesome and they have to be happy with winning second place and give it up to the boy group.
Commentary by our 2 hosts of color could happen along the way at various competitions.

At the fundraiser, the Trebles perform to help raise money for the Bellas in an act of goodwill and the Bellas and Trebles perform a number together....maybe that could open the door for PP4?

Just a rough idea...it isn't perfect but it could go somewhere.

It'd be nice to see more of the Treblemakers. I love the Bellas, but I thought that the Treblemakers really stole the show in the original with Jesse and I think the second one kinda just left them on the sidelines as more boyfriend supporters (which was stupid).

I also think the movie is at its best when it's doing the riff-offs. I don't see why the riff-offs can't last longer, make it more of a heated battle instead of these quick eliminations. Definitely more riff-offs and more on-stage performances, hopefully this time with some from the Treblemakers.

And, lastly, I'd like to see them bring back the kid from the original who steals the show but is disqualified for being HS. Perhaps, now he's in college (post-grad) with his own a capella team and doing well.

Honestly, just more singing and less bumper/Amy, second-job crap.
