Will be set during the 'movie era'

whatever they do be it multiverse film or not the kelvin cast are getting close to the age TOS cast were when they started doing movies (and if not quite then they can still play those ages no bother) . so thats a benefit of the long delay since Beyond - to really distance themselves from TOS era and the candy coloured uniforms and them all young starting out etc and brings them fully into the 80s movie era (after the various homage/foreshadowing to the original movies in the 3 kelvin films). the characters older/wiser, the maroon uniforms (kelvin style) and the big collar field jackets, new bridge more like the original films (no Apple store), blue lit mushroom spacedock, proper klingons and BoPs, Reliant, Excelsior, the movie nacelles, blu transporter beams, rainbow warp trails, chunky hand phasers, Saavik, David, Carol (eve), Terrell, Genesis, 80s hairdos, Horner style scores etc. Basically something as nostalgic for the 80s Trek movies as Top Gun Maverick was for the original film.
