So the Raimi Spider-Man is canonically *major spoiier*?
dead?
The Spider-Man in Morale's universe is HEAVILY implied to be this.

Yeah. They do imply that. It does seem funny he'd be killed by Kingpin since Sony couldn't get the rights to him at the time of the Raimi movies since he was tied with Fox because of Daredevil. I'm glad Marvel let them use him for that movie.
shareI haven't seen this but Raimi's Spider-Man just showed up in the new Spider-Man game and i'm pretty sure that's considered canon.
shareMaybe not dead, but definitely more like Kent Dorfman.
sharethe entire premise of the film is that there are many different dimensions
the film only shows spider-people from six of the millions of parallel universes
the spider-man you are referring to was blonde, and also wore his costume while dancing
that one IS NOT the Raimi one
I felt that the flabby dark haired version was the Raimi Spider-Man, and the blonde one was just close (edit... still can't be since he has web shooters)
Plus this blonde one had a female Doc Ock, so he wasn't in our Raimiverse.
Blonde hair and the existence of infinite multiverses notwithstanding, I saw these Raimi version “implications” as nothing more than winks to the Spider-Man universe in general. That is precisely what they wanted to do actually. I mean they didn’t just reference “emo Peter” and his infamous street dance from Spider-Man 3; what they did was poke fun at it by acknowledging its ridiculousness
What’s more, there is even a moment in this origin sequence that shows this Spidey holding together a bunch of cars on a bridge - the way this scene plays out is almost an exact copy of the ferry scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And let’s not forget the references made to real SM comics!
So no, none of Into the Spider-Verse’s nods to the Raimi/Maguire version were meant to imply that Morales’ Peter was the Raimi one. They were simple shout outs to the multiverses we’re familiar with. Nothing more or less.
In order for me to believe it was truly Raimi's version, I would have to see natural web-shooters built into Spidey's DNA.
sharebut isn't the tobey mcguire spider man peter b. parker and the real one?
shareI'm pretty sure this film is not considered canon to the MCU. Neither would Raimi's version.
