It certainly had its moments. It had plenty of suckitude though. I just finished and the last episode exemplifies that.
I think one of the big problems is that Stranger Things launched around the same time. That show embraced the cheesy nature of 80's films perfectly. This show was even more in the vein of the 70's, but I think the audience is not quite old enough to truly remember and embrace that nostalgia. For people 25 - 35 they remember 80's movies as a kid while growing up in the 90's. People who were kids in the 70's fall outside the 18-49 demographic that all of TV seems to focus on.
It also was a little too committed to goofy stuff. There was a 40 minute block about the proper way to use the needle to scratch a record. Only Breaking Bad could pull off something like that.
