brainwashing of younger generations

just starting to watch this, and already whenever this is set be it late 19th century or early 20th century, we have black characters and a female police officer...
i hope the series is good... but this kind of meddling with historical settings to suit and promote multi culturalism etc is just plain nonsense... its really not necessary

Go complain about it on Stormfront.

There were no blacks in England. Racist piece of *beep*

Ignorance should be against the law. There has been a black presence, however small, in Britain since the 12th century. Wow..,

Wow! Makes you wish that people would do a little research before opening their mouths. In this day and age of nearly instant information it's very difficult to plead "ignorance". But then again this is imdb, lol!

Historical records indicate the presence of a small Black population in Britain dating at least as far as the 12th century.[25] In 2013, a skeleton was discovered in Fairford, Gloucestershire, which forensic anthropology revealed to be that of a sub-Saharan African woman who died between the years 896 and 1025.[26][27]

Guess you're WRONG on all accounts...smh... We were there in the 12th century...wow! I love my people!

They jumped the gun some years(not too many) with her being the first female officer, but there were Blacks in the UK back then. The Black population was very very small then, but they existed. The explosion of the Black population in the UK occurred four decades later following World War Two. The British colonies in Africa emigrated mass numbers over to the UK since they were UK citizens at the time. This resulted in very intense racism for several decades because of the xenophobic nature of the British and the fact that despite being UK citizens, they were foreigners.
