is this what you expected Solos origin to be?

i expected something else.. I dunno tho..maybe less Han a luke type hero and more of antihero

EDIT - theres some stuff in this review about what I was sort of expecting Solo to be:
https://iannathanblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/30/the-rogue-one-some-thoughts-on-solo-a-star-wars-story/
A lavish, sideways jaunt into the recent criminal history of the legendary rogue, the promised Western set back on Tatooine or thereabouts, would have worked a treat. Sunshine and blasters, a great galactic train robbery, jailbreaks, Jabba’s palace in its hilarious pomp, Stormtroopers on Dewbacks, gunslinging droids, Greedo, Boba, and Thandie Newton as the female lead. The Cantina! But what do I know? I don’t work for Lucasfilm, and they would probably give me a zillion reasons why this or that. How it all needs to fit into the bigger picture. How it must mount a full-scale four quadrant assault.

The way I envisioned Han was basically done by Guardians. A young drifter rat raised by a clan of space pirates. And having never done a heroic thing in his life until he meets up with Luke and Obi-Wan and finally comes in from the Outer Rim to see what a threat the Empire really is.

yes that's what I was trying to get at. a total scumbag shoot first guy lol

reply

Yeah, they messed up his arc, which was expected.

Orphan... as most American movie heroes targeted for young teens..

reply

Rey was also an orphan, coincidence?

reply

Luke and Leia were both orphans.

Anakin is just about the only main character with a mother or father present.
