Kathleen Kennedy has 12 Oscar nominations and you're an angry guy on the internet

I wonder who's winning.

reply

Nominations? That does not sound like she's winning.

reply

Yeah, like that loser Alfred Hitchcock.

reply

This guy is actually comparing a hanger-on producer who had no creative input to one of the greatest directors of all time. God damn this forum cracks me up, so great.

reply

I'm guessing you're a moron -- my point is that Hitchcock has been nominated many times but has never won.

reply

You're comparing the nominations of the two like they are in any way comparable.

reply

And nearly all of those are attached to Steven Spielberg, and she had zero creative input on any of it. She's a great hanger-on, no doubt about that.

reply

I wonder from which part of Spielberg she hanged exactly... XDDDDDDDD

reply

Look closely at the nominations. Every single one is "shared with" another person(s). She's basically riding the coattails of people who are more talented than she is like Spielberg.

If you look at her private production company to see what she and her husband produced alone, it's a few unprofitable movies nobody knows. Her whole career is based on hitching her wagon to someone more talented.

BTW, brown-nosing and networking are talents she's obviously adept in so kudos to her for that.

reply

Bravo, a non-idiot arrives.

reply

90% of producer nominations are shared, dumb-dumb. Very few films have only one producer credited.

reply

It's not about 'winning' you cretin, it's simply about wanting good movies.

Honestly I find it endlessly fascinating that there's people like the OP around who not only have zero standards but also demand everybody else lower their standards to the same non existent level.

You might be quite happy being this guy:

But most of us here just want some Star Wars films that aren't the cinematic equivalent of syphilis.

reply

It's very bizarre that these people are so against criticism - it is in fact like they want shittier movies. Improvement? Who needs it. Don't dare suggest such a thing. The fanboy mentality is something I will never understand.

reply

Is she a Star Wars fan though? That should be the litmus test. If she's a fan of the original material and wants to see it expanded upon, then fine. If the original material only partially appeals to her, and she wants to guide it in a direction that makes her fully enjoy it, then she's gotta go. I don't care what her opinions are regarding the prequels, but she kinda has to enjoy everything about the original trilogy.

reply

EIGHT nominations, and NONE for Star Wars. What's your point?

reply

His point is that, by slinging these Oscar nominations around, it's supposed to somehow make our arguments look irrelevant and her films somehow look good. The fact alone that he measures quality by whether something has an Oscar nomination or not should tell us everything we need to know about him.

reply

Her Oscar nominations are irrelevant. She could have 100 and it still doesn't change the fact that she's a bigoted, feminazi psycho who turned Star Wars into a bland, generic set of stories with a PC political platform built into them.

I've always been of the mind that it takes a weak, insecure person with no real argument to sling around credentials and you're even worse because you're defending someone ELSE but slinging THEIR credentials around as if it should mean something. Pathetic, really.

So she has 12 nominations...what do YOU have?
