Had pacing issues like rogue one but overall it was a solid 7 out of 10 for me, some good OT references , huge cameo at the end a lot better than TLJ

shareIt was fun enough to recommend it, though it definitely helps to have low expectations. It's not really fair putting up any movie against the current 2018 trend of winners like Black Panther, Avengers and Deadpool, all still in theaters.
Comparing it to space adventures of 2017 seems a little bit more fair since this didn't have a whole lot of momentum going in. It obviously doesn't beat Thor, but I enjoyed this a little bit more than Guardians 2. I think most would agree this beats out TLJ, but it also destroys Valerian which shared a similar style to Solo. Seriously though, it so easily could've been another Valerian. That's what I was expecting from the early reviews, and that could be why I enjoyed Solo. Valerian made me ill.
I didn't see the pacing issues or the slow start at all. I don't know what you're talking about. The first act is Han escaping from the slums and there's nothing slow about it. This movie had much better pacing than Rogue One, there was always something happening.
