Will Kathleen Kennedy Call Fans Homophobes For Not Seeing Solo?

The minute they said Lando is pansexual, they gave themselves an excuse for this movie's box office failure. Now, they can call fans homophobes for not seeing their "great" movie.

I still see KK & company doubling down instead of admitting that she doesn''t know what she's doing especially since her job is on the line.

It definitely wasn't needed, but Glover does kinda put off that pansexual vibe. Also, in a galaxy filled with aliens of all shapes and colors, pansexual can mean something much different than it does here on earth.

Even though Aliens is a different universe, it reminds me of these quotes:

Private Frost: Hey, I sure wouldn't mind getting some more of that Arcturian poontang! Remember that time?

Private Spunkmeyer: Yeah, Frost, but the one that you had was a male!

Private Frost: It doesn't matter when it's Arcturian, baby!
Pansexuality, perhaps?

That: was a joke, wasn't pushing some modern political agenda, wasn't retroactively changing an already-established & famous character. Not even on the same planet in terms of sameness.

It was written as humor, but being humorous doesn't remove the canonical nature of the quote. The quote is also very much on the same planet of sameness with my second sentence in the first paragraph.

Also, the OP hypothesized the pansexual move could be there just as an excuse for poor box office numbers. There was no reference to any political agenda.

I don't really think her job is on the line.

When your films are making $100Ms less than predicted, you've had to re-shoot half of them, you've fired a good portion of your first choice writers/directors and half the fan base hates you you can be pretty sure your job *is* on the line.

I would have had far more respect for them if they had explicitly portrayed Lando as anything other than heterosexual, as opposed to this cutesy game that they are playing after the fact. Strikes me as having the same degree of courage displayed by JK Rowliing with her “Oh, by the way, Dumbledore is gay” revelation, which is to say:none at all.

Manufacturing fake controversy has certainly been a successful strategy for marketing mediocre films in the past, and from what critics are saying this film is as mediocre as they get

She can call my wife and I whatever she'd like but she and I are both lifelong Star Wars fans and BOTH hate what Kennedy has done to Star Wars.

I'd say that Kathleen Kennedy can kiss my a$$ but my a$$ deserves better...like a toilet seat.
