Mrs Gordon Actress is utterly abysmal!

Decided to give this go and have now watched the first three episodes.

Seems like a very promising show, asides from one thing - The actress who plays Gordon's wife is utterly, utterly terrible!

She can so obviously barely speak her lines that to criticize her wooden delivery would seem redundant! She honestly belongs on one of those sci-fi channel cheap knock offs of whatever summer blockbuster has just been out. It's quite spellbinding to watch!

Is this a common complaint re the show?

Yeah, she was terrible and then they completely changed her character to play to the actresses' strengths. I would say it's an improvement, but there's a reason she hasn't gotten much work outside the show.

Yes. That was a bizarre change they did with her (we're up to season 3 now) but it certainly helped out. She's considerably less jarring now and erm "worth watching" to be fair...

Agreed. So many actors in this show seem sub-par up next to some really great performances. I don't really like Gordon either but the Penguin, Jerome and Riddler characters are really well performed.

I didn't really notice Gordon's poor acting to begin with but he's really increased the ham levels as it's gone on.

I didn't think Gordon was 'bad' by any means. I just loved the villains best, the young Bruce Wayne was the worst in my opinion but I feel bad saying that because he was just a kid. Over all I didn't hate anyone, the show was great, but you could really see how bad of an actor certain characters were (as you noted) BECAUSE it had a lot of good, believable ones.
