I dont know these characters and I dont care about them. The only thing I connect with is Vader and Tarken. I have tried several times to watch it all the way through but I just cant get into it as an old school Star Wars og.

Actually no, people wanted new stories, new worlds, correct, but they wanted the old characters as well, they wanted, you know, a STAR WARS movie. They wanted to see again Luke, Han, Leia. And not just shadows of them.
7 could have been used as way to move the story from the old characters to the new ones. They did a bad job.
