What other genres could be transplanted to the Star Wars Universe?

Rogue One is essentially a war movie set in the Star Wars Universe. It occurred to me that now that Disney is opening up the Star Wars Universe outside of the Lucas storyline with this film and the upcoming Han Solo spin-off, what other films could they do?

One of the things that stood up was the Chinese characters who weren't proper Jedi Knights but was force sensitive and was adherent to religious doctrine. This could be expanded to have a Seven Samurai type storyline. Considering how you saw Darth Vader went through Rebel soldiers like knife through butter with his force powers as well as the main baddie in the Force Awakens movie, there could be a possibility of one of those Sith Jedi's (not sure of the terminology) going rouge that could give a slasher/horror type of story. I also was thinking that as Rogue One was more grown up, there could be the possibility of a political type thriller where an Imperial agent could the hero who thwarts an extremist Rebel Alliance aligned faction from say using a Weapon of Mass destruction against civilian targets.

If Disney is brave enough, the movies they could make is limitless. Does anybody have any ideas about future spin-off movies?

I'd like to see a heist movie set in this universe. Something where some clever SOBs set out to steal some I.portant thing from the Empire, or the emperor's palace or something, and they plan and implement a super-teee robbery that doesn't go as planned and they have to provide and double-cross each other and turn out to have thought of some surprise twist in advance.

I actually wondered if R1 was going to be such a movie. Since it isn't, id like someone to set "Topkapi" in space anyway.

Why they made rogue one a generic action blockbuster instead of this infuriated me from the moment i saw the first trailer.....

Were you also hoping for a heist film? I mean, I like the film they actually made, but I sure would like to see a super-clever heist flick. They're so rare.

PS: Sorry about the typos, I wrote that on my phone very late in a long shift.

I want a political thriller, or one of those 'rise of a ruthless, scheming person' stories like House of Cards. (Ok, maybe Palpatine already covered that one.) I know people disliked the "prequel politics" but I always thought those settings had a lot of potential, just maybe wasn't used to its best. I really wish Padme had been a better character. She could have been fascinating as a person who came from an important family and pursued political office at such a young age, yet was basically used as a plot device.

If they ever make a Young Princess Leia film, that'd be the only way to do it.

I mean, what did she do before ANH? She was a senator, a politician! She went to meetings and talked guardedly to both her allies and her enemies, and snuck off for weapons practice and secret meetings with rebels. That was her life, before she was taken prisoner at Scarif.

1. Since Tatooine looks and feels like the Middle East they can do many such storylines. One based on Aladdin where a rough scavenger boy falls in love with a princess after saving her life from evil bounty hunters.

2. From the Death Star With Love - where a Rebel (or Jedi) spy falls in love with a female Imperial officer but in the end they probably won't be together

3. A Terminator like spinoff where time travel technology is finally invented in this galaxy, and a team travels back in time to prevent the destruction of Alderaan. Or even further back in time to prevent Anakin's mother's death, the event that led him down the road to Darth Vader. At the same time, the Sith also send a man back in time to make sure the sand people kill Anakin's mother.

4. They could do an entire Days of Thunder type story centered around a disgraced pod racer struggling to get his life, his family, and the Galaxy Cup championship back. He eventually has to defeat a corrupt Huttese racer who has rigged the race.
