IMDB will lose a lot of traffic

I mostly come on here to discuss things. I will not come back to watch trailers, or movie news, or ratings. There's other, better sites for that.

I think the busy active message boards are the backbone of IMDB. Without it, it doesn't have a lot going for it.

Ya, I think it's a disastrous move by imdb. It'll likely kill it off.

Only around a 5% of the traffic will be lost. That's a lot (in the sense of being a blip on the radar) but obviously still quite outnumbered 19:1.

What about all the active board members who visit this site multiple times a day? It's gotta be more than 5%.

That and the off topic postings, and dragging politics into everything, and the sexism, and racism, and antisemitism, and any other isms that you can think of. People, at least in the USA, have the right to freedom of speech, but IMDb has terms and conditions for users. Unfortunately, a lot of people considered those terms and conditions as a suggestion, or maybe a hopeful wish. Oh, I almost forgot to include the pirate movie download site postings. There are legal ramifications for that and with Amazon being in the production business, those are headaches of which I'm sure Amazon didn't want any part.

I have a very low tolerance for stupid so if I ignore you it's nothing personal.

I only come on IMDb to read forums message boards and also learn about the stars.
Are u saying I can do neither now? I like to click on full biography of the actors learning trivia and their personal quotes

Only the message boards are ending, not the website in general. Everything else is staying for now.
