Godzilla and company seem to demolish cities with each step. I can see the haters keying in "the heroes cause more destruction than the villains" a la Man of Steel or something like that.
Highly likely. From monster-fighting humans to superheroes battling aliens or whatever in civilian areas... there’s no escaping these discussions (still preferable to all those endless posts from old and young grumps ranting about all things modern cinema). But I can only imagine what they would have to say about the biggest fictional destruction-causing heroes of all time... the Power Rangers!
[Now cue the so-called tough ”back in my day” crowd. Tee hee]
Cities and civilians at risk of being killed by falling buildings and mayhem. Sounds about the same. NOTE: I thought the MoS criticisms about destruction porn were overblown anyway. But I can see this happening with KotM (2019).
Superman has always been about saving people, not recklessly disregarding life. Godzilla is a giant monster and has no interest in saving anyone. There's a very large distinction between the two.
There was destruction in the old Superman movies too. People just didn't complain as much (and visuals back then didn't allow filmmakers to show as much).
How do people expect Superman and another superpowered person to fight in a city with zero collateral damage?
I was a little kid when I saw my first Godzilla movie, and freaked out because I thought that all the people in the model buildings and commuter trains that Godzilla was destroying were dying.
Nowadays, I expect some young adults "with anxiety disorders" (useless weenies) to do the same thing, and to freak out and claim they were "triggered" by something that I got over by the time I was seven. I shall laugh and laugh at their expense if they complain!
Dont mock it...I watched a Godzilla movie once, and afterwards grew into a giant monster, and trampled tall buildings and killed loads of innocent people.
Tru story bro...ban these evil movies.. etc, etc...
