In thought he promised to to kill her for 24 hours ? It seems like honesty I answering questions was some kind of code for him. Did I miss something?

Apparently most of the dialogue is unscripted and so I think it was just a creepy way of saying it... plus likely he was planning to possibly kill her, and so he kept it open.
