I don't get the acclaim.
It's a very well done show. But it's just a variation of what we've already seen in The Walking Dead.

I agree, it's a well done show. While it may well be a variation of some other show, it is certainly exactly like the game.
I watched 5 episodes then I went on youtube and watched all the cutscenes from the game (which have the same quality and same plot) and done. No need to watch show anymore lol

shareIt was until that point. I'm interested in plot points, and the show seems to follow all relevant plot points accurately.
Consequently watching the game cutscenes cured my "itch" for what happens next and I lost interest in watching the series. And anyway the show sometimes seems like it introduces artificial supplementary plot points just to cater to some audiences, which I find alienating.
the fan boys will say the story isnt about the zombies. but the zombies literally created the world they now live in. But when there are no zombies, there is no threat. So why are they not rebuilding cities and trying to get civilization back on their feet. they mention Ellie has the potential cure, but why does it matter when theres so few zombies? Rebuild the civilization and wipe out the remaining zombies. Problem solved.
