Shows similar to this?
Hilarious characters mixed with some 'feels and overall a great plot?
sharethe biggest similarities I find to this show are Eastbound and Down or Birdman. Both of those deal with a character dealing with being out of the spotlight... but you all probably have seen Birdman by now haha

Believe it or not South Park cuts pretty deep every now and again too. You could always look up comedy "Downer Endings" on TV tropes.

Mixing laughs and unexpected heavy emotions? I think that Futurama and Rick and Morty are probably your best bets. Neither are plot driver per se, but they're both really funny and they can both hit you really hard.
shareI was going to say the same. Rick and Morty is probably the closest in style. Futurama gets both the laughs and deep emotions well too, but yea both are more episodic in nature and not serialized so much like this.
shareCommunity: Pop-culture and meta humor, fast jokes and deep moments about loneliness and connecting. Honestly, out of every show I've seen Community is the closest to BoJack I've seen. Rick and Morty is kinda close but if it wasn't a cartoon I doubt people would make that connection as much.
shareWell, if we are moving away from animation, I would add the British version of The Office and Extras. Ricky Gervais is genius at bittersweet comedy.
-The night is a very dark time for me.
-It's dark for everyone, moron!
-Not for Alaskans...

Seconded for Community, definitely the same kind of fast, witty humor. Plus, Alison Brie (Diane's voice actor) is a main character.
shareThere's nothing similar to this.
But there's a lot of overlap with Rick and Morty viewers.
"He's just an old guy who loves pranks." "Sure sounds like God."
Californicaion or flaked

Agree with you on The Comeback. I see that as good comparison with Bojack, minus some of the absurdity.
shareArcher. Both shows feature a lead who is an alcoholic whose own vanity is often their downfall, and sometimes the structure of setting up a gag and paying it off is similar.
